Little H was quite excited when we received this latest package in the post. As mummy has been doing a lot online shopping for herself lately, finally something arrived that was child-appropriate!
There are lots of choice for the Music For Kids’ Jingle Puzzle, however as H is into her animals I decided to go for ‘Old MacDonald Had A Farm’. The box does say for ages 3-6 years so I was a bit concerned that it would be too old for H at the age of twenty months. She is not quite managing jigsaw puzzles as yet, so mummy had to assist when assembling it, however once it was together she did enjoy looking at the picture and tried to sing along with mummy when I showed her the tune. The puzzle measures 100cm x 20cm once it is put together, so it is quite large compared to other baby jigsaws.
The CD is really great. For one thing it saves my voice, and the childrens’ ears, as it sings the songs for me! H enjoyed a gentle sway to the music as I introduced her to some childhood favourites, such as Mary Had A Little Lamb and Baa Baa Blacksheep, and there was even a bonus story at the end.
Her favourite bit, however, were the stickers and colouring song sheet that came along with it! There were a few pages of pictures for her to colour in and she absolutely loves stickers (in particular sticking them to mummy’s face!) so she was in her element. Plus it gave me a fifteen minute break whilst she occupied herself!
For the price of £9.99 I really do think you get a lot for your money. The Jingle Puzzle can be bought from Music For Kid Direct.
*I was sent the puzzle for review for free, however all opinions are my own.
